Dear Traci & Family,

I wanted to express my deepest sympathy for the loss of your dad. I was very saddened when I heard this news from my mom & dad. My memories of your dad are fond and everlasting. Your dad helped me find somebody who was important for me to find when I was 18 and I will never forget that for the rest of my life. His personality was second to none and I remember a trip up to Geauga Lake back in the summer of 1994 and he had me laughing this entire way up there. He always treated me very well and helped me pick my classes for my first semester at Kent State. I feel very blessed to have known him and I truly believe that he has God in stitches as I write this. Thank you Mr. Kalafut for being a positive influence in my life and for the great family man that you were. May the wind always be at your back and the sun always upon your face. And may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars (my grandma always said that prayer) and I hope it provides some comfort for you and your family. God bless and again, I am so sorry for your loss,

Warmest Regards,

Jimmy, Dani & Capri Barber

Dear Traci & Family,

I wanted to express my deepest sympathy to you and your family through this difficult time. I was very saddened to hear this news from my parents as your dad was very good to me while we were growing up and my memories of him are fond and everlasting. He helped me find somebody who was/is very important to me when I was 18 and I'll never forget that. I remember a particular trip with him to Geauga Lake and he had me laughing the entire way. He was kind to others and was a wicked good time to be around, he'll be missed by many. God bless your dad Traci, heaven gained an angel.

I am very pleased that I was able to see grandpa during my last visitation to Ohio. We had a jolly time together. Grandpa was his usual jokester self, trying to sneak a few extra turns while playing checkers. It saddens me that he is no longer with us but I find comfort knowing he can now watch over all of us everyday.

Thank you so much for your kind and touching words, but most of all for the exceptional care the 3 of you provided for my father. You treated my dad with dignity and respect that was unparalleled. Dr. Kaplan, you served as a healer who went to bat for us when others did not care for him correctly. Kim, you became my dad's favorite dance partner who always had the ability to get a smile and a laugh out of him. Steve, you had a genuine kindness and patience with my dad, plus I'll never forget his amusement when you taught him how to fist bump! Thank you, thank you, thank you- those words will never be enough for 3 individuals who are truly like angels here on Earth.
