STRUTHERS - Marlene R. Polito, 75, died Tuesday Nov. 3, 2009 at Hospice House. Mrs. Polito was born Feb. 14, 1934 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rosella Dietz Martin. She graduated from East High School. She worked for Livingston's, General Fireproofing, A&P Store in the payroll department and also worked for 25 years for Dr. John and Denise DeBartolo York and Family. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church. She enjoyed pets, and was a member of the All Breed American Kennel Club. Mrs. Polito also bred Siberian Huskies and showed them in many dog shows. She was also a member of the Sons of Italy Club. She is survived by her three children, James (Elaine) Polito and Rosemarie Cooper both of Struthers and Donna Jo Clarkson of West Bloomfield, Mich.; and her grandchildren, Shannon Veauthier, Marc Cooper, Miranda Polito, Angelica Polito, Adam Clarkson and Alexandra Clarkson. In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Dominic J. Polito, whom she married Sept. 19, 1953, and who died Oct. 14, 1998; her son in law, Mark Cooper; and two brothers, Walter and Joseph Martin. Visitation will held on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
