Struthers, Terrence A. Hritz, 72

Services will be on Tuesday December 2, 2014 at 9:30 AM at Kirila Funeral Home, Inc. and at 10 AM at Christ our Savior Parish, Holy Trinity Church for Terrence A. Hritz age 72 who died on Tuesday November 25th at Vibra Hospital of Mahoning Valley surrounded by his family.

Terry was born on December 1, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Joseph and Mary Chismar Hritz. He was a 1960 graduate of Struthers High School. After graduation he entered into the United States Air Force. He worked for LTV Steel, J & L Steel and Cold Metal Products from which he retired in 2002.

Terry enjoyed traveling with his wife, boating, building and flying model airplanes, model trains, racing and computer simulators. He was a member of the Mahoning County Model Club. Terry was a four-time cancer survivor and was fighting a rare form of Parkinson’s called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.

He was cherished and will be deeply missed by his wife Dorothy Schlosser Hritz, whom he married on May 14, 1966, a son Joseph S. Hritz (fiancé Karen Lambert) of Struthers, daughter Nancy A. Hritz (fiancé Christopher Stellato) of Boardman, two grandchildren, Dylan and Kaitlyn Hritz both of Struthers and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Virginia Hritz Petretich, stepmother Agnes (Orvec) Hritz, a sister-in-law Evelyn Schlosser, a brother-in-law William Chovan, and many aunts and uncles.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday December 1, 2014 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Kirila Funeral Home, Inc., 258 Poland Avenue in Struthers. Burial will take place at St. John Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Vibra Hospital of Mahoning Valley for the wonderful care they gave Terry in his last few weeks of life.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or CurePSP.
