Richard P. Kollar, 80
YOUNGSTOWN – A prayer service will be held Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at 9:15 a.m. at the Kirila Funeral Home, Inc., and the funeral procession will leave the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrow Parish, St. Matthias Church, for Richard P. Kollar, 80, who passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, at Hospice House.
Richard was born Dec. 1, 1933, in Youngstown, son of the late Stephen and Helen (Dulick) Kollar.
He worked as a dispatcher for Roadway Trucking and then for FedEX, from where he later retired. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of the Eagles Club and American Legion, both of Youngstown.
He is survived by a sister-in-law, Julene Kollar of Youngstown; two nieces, Michelle Kollar of Youngstown and Debbie (Nick) Lopez of Lowellville; a great-nephew, Nick Lopez; and a great-niece, Sabrina Kollar.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna (Hassay) Kollar; his second wife, Dorothy (Popovnak) Kollar; and two brothers, Ronald Kollar and David Kollar.
Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Kirila Funeral Home, Inc., 258 Poland Ave. in Struthers.
Burial will take place at Lake Park Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staffs at the Blood and Cancer Center and Hospice of the Valley for their care for Richard and support to the family.
