A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday July 2, 2016 at 10:30am at Christ our Savior Parish, Holy Trinity Church celebrated by Rev. Bernard N. Gaeta for Anna (Anne) Sebest Spirko who passed away Monday, June 27, 2016.
Anne, was born July 12, 1925, in Campbell, daughter of the late Martin and Mary (Klimko) Sebest. Anne was a 1943 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Struthers, OH and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. Anne kept active throughout her 90 years and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a Shirley Temple collector and excellent card player. She enjoyed picnics at Strossmeyer and SNPJ and attending polka dances every Sunday where she and her husband would dance the night away.
She is survived by her son, John Spirko, Struthers, OH. Her grandchildren Lance Howell, Salem, OH, John Spirko, Vienna, Ohio, and Anne Spirko, Hubbard, OH; four great-grandchildren, Dominic Cannistra, Sadie Cannistra, Anthony Cannistra, and Sophie Cannistra, Hubbard, OH. A sister, Dorothy Desput, Pulaski, PA and brother-in-law, Henry Pavalko, Willoughby, OH.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John (Sparky) Spirko, July 5, 1947 he died November 8, 2007, her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Keith Howell; four brothers, John, Steve, Ed and Michael Sebest; and six sisters, Margaret Sebest, Mary Check, Helen Mazarik, Julie Trill, Irene Walko and Eleanor Pavalko.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:30am - 10:20am at Holy Trinity Church. She will be laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley and Maplecrest Nursing Home for their loving and tender care.
