Xavier L. Young Sr.

Xavier L. Young, Sr, 58, of Youngstown, passed away on November 2, 2024 at the Hospice House in Poland, OH. 

Xavier was born on September 21, 1966, in Youngstown son of, Edward Young and Amber Mann. Xavier worked as a Police Officer for Mercy Health and before that with the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department, and Struthers Police Department. He was also a member of the Sheriff’s FOP Lodge 141, Struther’s FOP Lodge 41 and Steel Valley FOP Lodge 193. Xavier enjoyed fishing and camping, traveling, and watching Pittsburgh Steelers Football.

Xavier is survived by his mother Amber Mann, stepfather, John Evans, his children, Darnell West, Andree West, Leslie West, Xavier L. Young, Jr., Jermaine Edward Young, and Kobe Young, siblings, Curtis Mann, Vincent Sherman, Edward Robinson, Tiki Davis, Asia Laury, Andre Laury, Stacey Cunningham of Columbus, OH, and Shawn Green,  along with 15 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by father, Edward Young, and his wife, Sandra J. (Soich) Young, whom he married on March 6, 1990, she died on October 19, 2024.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 9:00 am - 10:30 am at Kirila Funeral Home, Inc., 258 Poland Avenue in Struthers, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 am.

Xavier will be laid to rest next to his wife in Lake Park Cemetery.
