Boardman, Veronica M. Kakaruda, 94, 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday March 22, 2016 at 10:30 am at Christ Our Savior Parish, St. Nicholas Church for Veronica M. Kakaruda who died on Friday March 18, 2016 at her home. Veronica was born in Struthers, Ohio on  October 27, 1921, daughter of the late Jacob and Anna (Trawka) Spiech. She was a homemaker, a member at St. Nicholas Church and she worked for Republic Rubber as a Payroll Clerk and also worked at the General Electric Company as a Shop Operation Clerk. She was a member of the St. Nicholas Church Altar & Rosary Society and the Polish National Alliance.

She is survived by her nephews, Michael J. (Lisa) Spiech of Cleveland, Ohio, Richard T. (Bettyann) Spiech of Hubbard, John F. (Diane) Kalonsky of Struthers and her great-nieces and nephews, Connor and Evan Spiech and Callie (Larry) Wolf and Kenneth Oyler, II. and two great-great nieces, Harper and Scout Wolf. In addition to her parents, Veronica was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Kakaruda whom she married October 9, 1982, he died December 11, 2000, a brother, Thaddeus Spiech, a sister, Mary Kalonsky and three nieces, Beverly Myers, Cheryl Spiech and Diane Kalonsky.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2016, 9:30 am - 10:30 am at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers. Burial will take place in St. John Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. James Demidovich and staff, Hospice, her three caregivers, and neighbor  Bill Whitely and his family for their care, support and friendship to Veronica.
