Theresa Rose Maceyko, 91, passed away peacefully at The Inn at Poland Way in Poland, Ohio
on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024. Born October 5, 1933 in Campbell, Ohio to the late John J. and
Susan Sonoga Elosh, she was the youngest of nine children. The last of her generation, her
passing will see her reunited with the loved ones who had gone before her.
Theresa lived a very fulfilled life. A shining light to all who knew her, she was sweet, kind,
caring, selfless, and a constant joy to be around. She had a lifelong passion for recording
memories through photos and mementos, as well as many talents and hobbies, from cooking
and baking to typing, bowling, drawing and puzzles. Her passions were instilled in her children,
grandchildren, and the many children she babysat through the years. She was a memory maker
and will be deeply missed by her beloved family and friends.
A long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Theresa was steadfast in her faith. Her life
was truly a reflection of God’s love.
Theresa was a 1952 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. A National Honor Society
student, class sweetheart, and talented majorette, the comments written in her school yearbook
reflect that she was highly regarded and “the most wonderful girl a person would want as a
friend”. Throughout her life and through her interactions, Theresa continued to make the world a
better place.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest “Ozzie” Maceyko in 2004, her parents,
her eight siblings and each of their spouses. She was loyal and lived to care for others.
She leaves to cherish her memory a dedicated son, Kenneth (Renee) Maceyko of Hermitage,
PA and daughters, Karen Maceyko of Glen Ellyn, IL and Monica (Matt) Felt of Greenville, SC.
Her grandchildren, Shannon (Jason), Erika and Tommy, and Mitchell (Emily), Megan and
Miranda, and great-grandson, Karsten will miss her endless patience, playfulness and
generosity.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Ed and Diane Reese and the staff at The Inn at
Poland Way for their loving care. May God’s devoted servant Theresa rest in peace.
