Mary Agnes Duchek, 90, of Poland, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Woodlands At Hampton Woods in Poland. She was born on August 2, 1935, in Campbell, Ohio, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Zifchak) Garchar.
Mary was a 1953 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. She worked at Bond’s Clothing in Youngtown from 1955 to 1957, and at Bloomquist and Clark in Austin, Texas, in 1957. She was a dedicated homemaker and loved her family.
Mary enjoyed going to Mountaineer Casino, and watching her favorite sports teams, the Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers. She also loved gardening and taking care of her yard.
She is survived by her husband, William Duchek, whom she married on February 9, 1957, and sons William Duchek (Laurie) of Poland, Robert Duchek (Teresa) of Struthers, and David Duchek (Shellie) of Poland. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, John Garchar, Andrew Garchar, Paul Garchar, Steven Garchar, Joseph Garchar, and George Garchar; and her sisters, Elizabeth Dicsko, Helen Pervetich, and Ann Zolka.
Friends will be received Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 10:00 am to 10:50 am at Holy Trinity Church, 250 N Bridge St., Struthers, Ohio 44471. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am at the church.
Interment will follow in the St. John Cemetery.
The Family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Woodlands At Hampton Woods and Sanctuary Hospice for the care they provided to Mary in her final days.
