Margaret H. (Smreck) Swansiger

Boardman, Margaret H. Swansiger, 92,  died on October 29, 2025 in Mercy Health in Youngstown.
Margaret was born in Youngstown, OH, daughter of the late Clement and Pauline (Klein) Smreck. She was a graduate of Wilson High School and worked for many years as a salesclerk for Strouss Department Store. She was a member at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish,  St. Matthias Church. Margaret enjoyed spending time with family and visiting her neighbors that were so kind and helpful to her .. She also belonged to the Byzantine Social Club and Altar and Rosary at Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Church in Boardman.

Margaret is survived by 3 step children, Mark (Sandee) Swansiger, of New Wilmington, PA.,  Laurie (Mike) Herceg, of Cleveland, OH., and Paul (Alorah) Swansiger, of New Middletown, OH.,  her sister, Tillie Chachko, and step grandchildren, James and Greg Herceg, Kara and Sam Swansiger,  and many nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews, along with many friends at Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve J.  Swansiger whom she married in 1977, he passed  away in 1995,  two sisters , Martha  Barnes, Magdaline Koziel, a brother,  Clement (Jeff) Smreck. 
Friends will be received Tuesday, November 4, 2025, 10:00 am - 10:45 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, St. Matthias Church followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am also at the church.
Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown, Ohio
There is no procession to the cemetery.
