Margaret D. Babik

Margaret D. Babik, 94, who passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Maplecrest Nursing Home. Margaret was born May 14, 1931 in Campbell, Ohio, daughter of the late Michael and Martha (Senda) Zakucia.

She was a graduate of East High School and later worked in sales for Komara Jewelers for 27 years. She was a member of Christ our Savior Parish, St. Nicholas Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed golfing with the GCU League and the P.Y.B.S. Golf League. She was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokol Wreath #54, and the Jednota Society.

Margaret is survived by her children, Elaine (Charles) Ernst, Steven (Betty Erbach) Babik, Robert (Michelle Ferraro)  Babik, her grandchildren, Michael (Melissa) Ernst, Matthew Ernst, Amy (Raul)  Rosario, Steven Ernst, Jeffery (Heidi)  Babik, Ryan Babik, and her great grandchildren,  William Ernst, Woods Babik, Ona Bailey Babik.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Frank J. Babik, whom she married June 27, 1953, he died on February 2, 1989, her brother, Thomas Zakucia, her sister, Helen Jean Popovich, a granddaughter, Kristin Babik.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the at the Kirila Funeral Home, Inc., Struthers, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Christ Our Savior Parish, St. Nicholas Church in Struthers, Ohio.

A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 am for church.

Interment will follow in the St.  John Cemetery, Lowellville, Ohio 44436.

In place of flowers, donations can be made to Akron Children's Hospital.
