Struthers, Lillian (Ljiljana) Sunjic Bergman, 81,

Lillian (Ljiljana) Sunjic Bergman, 81 died on Friday, January 24, 2020, at Shepherd of the Valley in Poland. She was born on May 23, 1938,  in Sarajevo, Bosnia daughter of the late Ivan Sunjic and Lucija (Stanic) Sunjic  Kozaric. In 1956 she came to America with her mother. She worked as a seamstress until she and her husband Thomas started their family. She was a very active member of SS Peter & Paul Church and the church choir. She was also involved with other area churches and community events. Lillian was an avid bowler. She enjoyed attending her bowling banquets with her friends. Lillian loved her all of her friends, her children, and their families. 

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret (George)  Bergman  Markulin, of Cleveland, her sons, Thomas E. (Natalyn) Bergman Jr., of Manteca, CA., Michael J. Bergman, of Struthers,  John A. (Linda) Bergman, of Columbus, eight grandchildren, Brad, Ashley, Ryan, Grace, Rebecca, Pamela, Kristina, Andrea,  a nephew, Mladen (Diana) Sunjic, her nieces, Zrinka (Mario) Paric, Diana Sunjic, great-nieces, Dea Sunjic and Martina Paric, and her sister, Kvzica S. Breljakovic.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. (Tomislav) Bergman, Sr.,  whom she married on September 27, 1958, he died on August 11, 2013, her sister, Ljubica Sunjic and two brothers, Drago Sunjic and Fr. Vijeko Sunjic, and her stepfather, Andy Kozaric.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, 1/28/2020  from 11:00 am until the service at 12:30 pm at Holy Apostle Parish, SS. Peter & Paul Church, 421 Covington Street in Youngstown.
Burial will take place in St. John Cemetery. 

Contributions may be made in Lillian's name to Hospice of the Valley or Shepherd of the Valley. 

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Shepherd of the Valley, Hospice of the Valley and St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman for their support and care of Lillian.
