Joan High

Joan High, 98, of Struthers, passed away on November 15, 2024, at the Maplecrest Nursing Home in Struthers.

Joan was born on February 4, 1926 in Struthers, daughter of the late Roy and Anna (Stout) Johnson. Joan was affectionately known as "Joanie" by the Maplecrest staff.

Joan married John High on October 30, 1948, he died on August 4, 1989. They lived in Struthers and raised their three children, John (Darlene) High of West Virginia, Joyce High of Columbus, and Jeffrey (Andrea) High of Struthers. Joan also leaves four grandchildren, Bryan (Kierston), Robert (Kimi) all of Virginia, John M. (Angie) of Chambersburg, Pa., and Michelle (Dan) Chapman of New Springfield, along with five great-grandchildren, Brennan, John, Annalise High, and Cora and Mattie Chapman.

Joan is greatly loved by her family and will be missed, especially by Andrea, her caregiver.

In addition to her parents and husband, Joan, was preceded in death by several brothers, and two sisters.

A private funeral service and burial was held for Joan at Kirila Funeral Home, Inc., in Struthers followed with a burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery
