Struthers,
Dorothy Blasko, 95, of Struthers, passed away on March 8, 2024 at her home. Dorothy was born in Youngstown on August 11, 1928, the daughter of the late John and Catherine Gromofsky. She was a 1946 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. She worked in the office of the air Conditioning Training Company for 10 years. She was a longtime member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. She enjoyed reading, gardening, scratching lottery tickets, and playing cards and was in a card club for over 5o years.
She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her daughter, Barbara Benedict, of Struthers, and her son, Richard (Laurie) Blasko, of Poland.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas whom she married July 26, 1952, he passed away on April 23, 2009, her brother William Gromofsky, and her sisters, Catherine Brumert, Margaret O'Masta, Agnes Kachurek, Anne Matus, and Louise Foreman.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Youngstown, followed by a funeral service to be held at 11:00 am.
Dorothy will be laid to rest in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Cemetery.
