Alec Cundik, 86

BOARDMAN - A service will be held on Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at    10 a.m. at
the Nativity of Christ Orthodox Church for Alec Cundik, 86, who passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, at Hospice House.

Alec was born on Feb. 15, 1928, in Youngstown, son of the late Feodor and Anna Cundik.
He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and from Youngstown College, with a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for many years at YS&T as a Project Engineer and then worked for M.S. Consultants, also as a Project Engineer. He was a member of the Nativity of Christ Orthodox Church. He was a former member of A.S.C.E., he enjoyed playing golf, and gardening and loved helping people.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie (Nosek) Cundik, whom he married Oct. 11, 1958; two sons, Alex Cundik of Cleveland, and Mark (Lisa) Cundik of Wadsworth; two sisters, Judy Cundik, of Boardman, and Dorothy Shirilla, of Poland; his brother-in-law, Mike Bilas of New Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held today, Oct. 9, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Kirila Funeral Home Inc., 258 Poland Ave. in Struthers and on Friday, Oct. 10,
2014, from         9:30 a.m. until services at 10 a.m. at the Nativity of
Christ Orthodox Church, 727 Miller St. in Youngstown. There will be a Parastas service held at the funeral home today at 6:30 p.m.
In addition to his parents, Alec was preceded in death by a sister, Olga Bilas and a stepbrother, George Dmitrenak.

Burial will take place at Lake Park Cemetery.
