Struthers, Kenneth T. Oravec, 60
A funeral service will be held on Thursday July 14, 2016 at 10:30 am at Christ our Savior Parish, Holy Trinity Church for Kenneth T. Oravec who died on Sunday July 10, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman. Ken was born in Youngstown on December 12, 1955son of the late Carl P. and Mary (Hamrock) Oravec. He was a member at Holy Trinity Church, a 1974 graduate of Struthers High School and a 1981 graduate of Youngstown State University. He worked for the US Postal Service as a Mail Carrier, retiring in 2011 after 30 years of service. 
Ken was an avid sports fan; he enjoyed golf, he played in the Campbell Golf League and the IHM Golf League. He got two “Hole-in-Ones” his first was in August 2001 and his second was earlier this year. He also was in several bowling leagues in the area. Ken was a member of the 1973 High School State Baseball Championship Team. He was the owner of several race horses at Mountaineer Casino & Race Track and was a Cleveland Browns season ticket holder. He was so happy to see his teams, the Cleveland Cavs and the Pittsburgh Penguins win championships this year. 
He is survived by two brothers, Carl P. (Sandy) Oravec, Jr., of St. Louis, MO, Martin J. (Julie) Oravec of Boardman, his sister, MaryAnn (Jim) McCloskey of Boardman and his nieces and nephews, Shaun (Jen) McCloskey, Jennifer (Joel) Greenstein, Marty (Cait) Oravec, Amanda Oravec and Phillip Oravec.
Visitation will be held on Thursday July 14, 2016 from 9:00 am - 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will take place in St. John Cemetery.
The family requests any donations be given to them and the money will then be donated to Ken's favorite charity.
