Jean M. Nestor

Jean M. Nestor, 82, Youngstown -  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Dominic Church for Jean M. Nestor who passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018. Jean was born on August 4, 1935 in Long Island, NY, daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Schwaab)  Becconsall. She attended New York University and Youngstown State University. She retired from Youngstown State University after working many years in the College of Fine and Performing Arts. She was a member at St. Dominic Church where she was very active as a Third Order Dominican in the Dominican Order. She was also active in the Families in Touch organization. Jean was a very strong and compassionate person, especially when it came to her family and traditions. She was the anchor of her family. She had many close and long- term friendships.  Jean enjoyed gardening, cards and bridge, was an avid reader, and loved crossword puzzles.  She had a great sense of humor. She was very well respected and loved by her family and her many friends. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Lorraine (Lawrence) Stelzer of Columbus, son, John (Michele) Nestor of Boardman, daughter, Susan Nestor of Youngstown, brother, Albert Becconsall of Long Island, NY, sister, Dorothy (Dot) (Bob Pollock) Hansen of Long Island, NY, her grandchildren, Jessica Stelzer and Lawrence Stelzer, III, Kevin Myers Jr.(Maddie) and Justin Myers, and her great grandchildren, Jayce and Isabella Myers.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by, Donald A. Nestor whom she met in Greenwich Village, NY and married in 1959.  They were together over 50 years.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Anthony Nestor, and her brother, Robert Becconsall.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Kirila Funeral Home Inc. in Struthers.  Services will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at 10:00 am at St Dominic Church in Youngstown. with viewing from 9:30 am - 10:00 am preceding mass.   Burial will follow in the Lake Park Cemetery.
