It is with saddened hearts, David Jerome Beil Sr., 70, of Boardman, Ohio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Dave went to be with Jesus following a brief battle with cancer. Dave was born August 4, 1948 in Youngstown, Ohio. He was the son of the late Gerald Beil and Marjorie (Sebaugh) Beil Kunzer, and stepfather John Kunzer, Sr.
Dave attended Wilson High School and then proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.
He worked for Conrail/Norfolk Southern for 36 years as an Engineer, retiring in 2006. In retirement, Dave found joy in spending time with his family and friends, riding his motorcycle, and enjoying his annual family vacation to the lake and the “Cabin” with Brother Rick.
Dave will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Natalie (Ahlquist) Beil, with whom he recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; their five children, Lottie Begg of Boardman, David Jerome Jr. of Olmstead Falls, Matthew (Debra) of Boardman, Angela (William) Schaper of Boardman, and Melissa (Stanley) Magielski of North Lima; his grandchildren to whom he was affectionately known as “Papa, Pop Pop, Hoppa”; Andrew Begg, and Isabel, Abigail, Grace, Matthew Jr., Samuel Beil and Sarah, Liam, Lucas, Lydia Schaper, and Stanley Jr., Lillyana Magielski. Dave was the patriarch of his family. He was always proud of being 1 of 17 siblings, Diane (Walt) Goclano, Judi Hradil, Lynn (Buzz) Vestal, Pat Lebedin, Jackie (Bob) Nard, George (Patti) Beil, Tootsie Anderson, Melanie (Anthony) Quahliero, Barbara Watkins, Lori (Jerry) D’Annunzio, Johnny (Melinda) Kunzer, Bill Kunzer, Mickey (Rick) Lallo, Eddie Kunzer, JeriLee (Danny) Giancola, Mike (Beth) Kunzer, multiple in-laws, Uncle Dave to numerous nieces and nephews, and“Pops” to so many.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Jody Lynn, his parents, step father, and grandparents.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the Kirila Funeral Home, Inc., 258 Poland Avenue in Struthers. On Tuesday a prayer service will be held at 9:15 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Dominic Parish in Youngstown officiated by Rev. John Keehner. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
