Poland, A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road in Boardman for William E. Bowser who passed away on October 4, 2017 at Hospice House after a brief illness with his family at his side. William was born on November 4, 1931 in Youngstown son of the late William E. and Vera (Mathews) Bowser. He was a graduate of East High School and Florida Southern University. He was an avid sports fan. He was a great athlete, playing baseball, football, boxing and winning a state title in tennis. He served in the US AirForce during the Korean Conflict and played baseball for the USAF Baseball team in the Philippines and played against Jackie Robinson. He lived in Winter Haven, Florida for 15 years. He was a chemist for Armor Agricultural Chemical Company in Bartow, Florida and for Youngstown Sheet & Tube. He was the owner of Bowser Red Cap Dry Cleaners in Boardman for 30 years. He was a member of the Masonic Wick Lodge 481, York Rite, Scottishrite, Youngstown Shrine Club and Shriners-Alkoran. He was member of the American Legion Post 15 in Poland. He coached 15 years in the Poland Community Baseball Association. He also was a member of the Poland Boosters and the Poland Touchdown Club. William especially loved attending his grandchildren's sporting activities and the yearly family vacation in Brigantine Island, N.J.

William is survived by his son, Terry (Elaine) Bowser of Forest Hill, MD, his daughter, Leeann (James) Gill of Poland, his grandchildren, Ryan Gill and Kelsey Gill of Poland, Karen (Kyle) Kirkpatrick of Lewis Berry, PA, Craig (Maria) Bowser of Carney, MD, David (Meghan) Bowser of Bel Air, MD and his great-grandchildren, Kayla & Ryann Kirkpatrick and Garrett & Alton Bowser.
In Addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet E. (Reiter) Bowser whom he married November 1, 1952, she died December 29, 2016, a sister, Margaret Tesyk and a Step-brother, Al Hubbard Jr.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at the Disciples Christian Church.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley for the special care he was given.
