Santa Monica, CA., Rose M. Savka, 96

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 5, 2016 at Noon at St. John Cemetery Chapel in Coitsville Township with Rev. Shawn Conoboy officiating  for Rose M. Savka of Bentley Suites, Santa Monica, CA, who died on Sunday June 5, 2016 at 4:46 am after a long, loving life. 

Mrs. Savka was born in Niles, Ohio, daughter of the late Demetrius and Domnikia (Yurko) Dorohoff. She graduated from Niles High School in 1939 and worked at Lustig's Shoes and Strouss's in the shoe department at Southern Park Mall. She  married Michael A. Savka of Campbell in 1950, he died in 1972. She moved to Ann Arbor, MI in 1990 and then to Santa Monica, CA in 2005. She was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church and a member of the Greek Catholic Union.

Rose leaves two daughters, Dorothy of Santa Monica, CA. and Anastasia (Kenneth) Klovski of Chelsea, MI., a son, Dr. Michael A. Savka, (Maria Luiza) of Pittsford, NY and six grandchildren, Francisco, Maria Victoria, Cecelia, Phillip, Martha and Jack along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and William and two sisters, Helen Ross and Mary Carr.

Visitation will be held from 11:30am until noon at St. John Cemetery Chapel. Her final resting place will be in St. John Cemetery.
