John M. Takach, 68, of Struthers, OH, passed away the afternoon of May 16, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Born on May 12, 1947 in Youngstown, OH, he was the son of the late John and Rose Alexander Takach. Surviving at home is his beloved wife of 48 years, the former Judith Bonelli, whom he married on January 14, 1967. John worked as a millwright for Trinity Industries. He was a member of St. Nicholas Church. For 12 years, John coached Struthers Little League Baseball. He loved his 1940 Buick and taking it to car shows. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends and especially his son John. John would play Santa Claus for his grandchildren and the children and grandchildren of his friends and neighbors. His greatest joy came from going dancing with his wife of 48 years. In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children, April Jessop and husband Don of Austintown, OH and John Takach and wife Tracy of Kettering, OH; brother, Timothy Takach of Youngstown, OH; and grandchildren, Ben and Nick Jessop, Ethan and Emily Gerak, and Lauren and Joe Takach. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Lainie. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Kirila Funeral Home 258 Poland Avenue, Struthers, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10:00am at Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church, officiated by Reverend Bennard Bonnot. The funeral procession will leave Kirila Funeral Home at 9:30 am for church. Interment will take place in St. John Cemetery.
