Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 10:30 am at Kirila Funeral Home Inc., for Jack Baker age 81 of Youngstown who passed away at his home on Friday November 28, 2014. Jack was born in Haywood, West Virginia on January 7, 1933 son of the late Dennis and Rosa (Reed) Baker He worked as a Machinist for several steel companies that included, Mesta Machine Shop in New Castle, Pa., where he learned his trade, G.E. Company and finally at Wean United. He also worked as an Auxiliary Police Officer for the Youngstown Police Dept. Jack enjoyed his local CB Radio Group and communications, he enjoyed roller skating and camping. Jack would go to the mall for his daily exercise walking between the hours of 3-5 pm, then he would complete his evenings at the Ice House a few hours. Jack most enjoyed taking his family on vacations every summer. He will always be remembered for his willingness to help his family and friends if needed.
Jack is survived by his children, Jack (Sue) Baker, Jr. of Canfield, Lloyd (Dawn) Baker of Sarasota, Florida, Karen Baker of Struthers, Tom (Lisa) Baker of Boardman, Tim Baker of Struthers and Marti Mook in Tennessee. In addition to his children Jack has nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. (Agee) Baker whom he married on September 4, 1954, she died February 3, 2013, his daughter, Nancy Doyle, and two sister, Betty Bennett, and Nida Ganoe, along with several half brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 5, 2014, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Kirila Funeral Home, Inc., 258 Poland Avenue in Struthers, Ohio. Burial will take place in the Lake Park Cemetery.
