Dorothy J Latura, 86
Dorothy Latura of Poland died Thursday afternoon, January 29, 2015 while at home with her family.  
Dorothy was born in Struthers on Oct 20, 1928, the eldest daughter of John and Emma Mable Strishock.  She attended the Struthers schools and graduated in 1947.  She happily married Steve Latura on October 15, 1949 and celebrated 55 years of marriage until Steve’s death in 2004.  Dorothy was a charter member of Holy Family Church and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Struthers Council. She enjoyed golf and was a member of two women’s golf leagues, sewing, quilting and spending time with her family.  Dorothy was employed for 21 years at Gorant candies in Boardman. 
Preceding her in death was her husband of 55 years, Steve Latura, her son Robert of Richmond, VA., her parents and five of her siblings.  She is survived by her daughter Joyce, of Tumacacori, AZ, son David (Pam) of Tucson, AZ, daughter-in-law Lori of Richmond, VA, her brother William (Shirley) of Columbiana, grandchildren Christopher, Eric (Angela), Justina (Brad), Linnae (Kevin), Matthew and Leah.  Dorothy also leaves 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral and Mass are planned for Tuesday, February 03, 2015 11:00 AM  at Holy Family Church in Poland.  Dorothy requests that there be no calling hours at the funeral home, but friends and family may call at 10:00 AM before the Mass at church.  Dorothy will be laid to rest at St John’s Catholic cemetery in Coitsville. 
In lieu of flowers her family suggests donations be directed to Dorothy’s favorite charity, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.  The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Valley for their excellent care and support during Dorothy’s illness.
